ash's bio
With a BA in Nutrition & Food Science, from the University of Vermont, and nearly a decade of experience in food justice and human services nonprofits, I've dedicated my career to improving food access for underserved communities through a variety of innovative programs. I'm a "systems-thinker" and thrive in projects at the intersection of operations, logistics and a requirement creative thinking.Since starting my nonprofit consulting business, I've also made it a priority to focus on creativity and artistic expression. I realized that since entering the workforce nearly 20 years ago, I had never made time for my art. In 2024 dove head first into a myriad of mediums: theatre, painting, photography, videography, film, creative writing, digital media and design, to name a few. I love learning new skills, working with new tools, and discovering new ways of allowing creativity to permeate my life. It's connected me to my community and my passions in more ways than I could imagine.Lately, my new goals with both my professional and artistic skillsets are to focus on how to better the world around me. Whether that takes the form of queer joy through artistic expression or building operational systems for critical nonprofit programs, I value my community and the importance and power of my contribution to it.
